The purpose of scrubs

Scrubs have not always been de rigueur clothing among hospital personnel. They were issued only when street clothes were contaminated and therefore posed a danger to patients. Eventually, they became regular hospital “uniform”. They are called scrubs because they were initially worn by doctors and nurses who “scrubbed” before they worked on a surgery. They are designed to be loose fitting and simply designed for easy laundering.

Modern scrubs have turned up in various colors. The cut has also evolved. In some cases, a simply designed long jacket is now part of scrubs. It is meant to provide warmth in the cold hospital environment. Since almost all hospital personnel are now wearing scrubs, there is a big demand for them. They can easily be ordered from online scrubs sites.
